SnapLock Gutter System
What
is SnapLock?
SnapLock is a revolutionary gutter attachment
system available to homeowners only through
authorized Gutter Helmet dealers. The system
consists of a specially designed truss &
bracket that allows gutters to be “snapped”
into place on the fascia. The gutters are
stronger and can handle more weight but
literally “float” in place.
What are the
Benefits?
Before Snap-Lock, every gutter in the United
States was attached to the fascia with a nails,
spikes or screws. When holes were made into
the back of the gutter with these obsolete
fasteners - water could be unintentionally
introduced into the fascia area. The holes
in the wood fascia - into which these attachments
were originally driven were constantly wet.
Eventually the strength of each fastener would
become compromised by the deadly combination
of wetness, weakness, rot and weight (of ice
and snow in the gutter). In time, without
intervention, every gutter will come loose
and eventually fall off the house.
Expansion, Contraction, & Ventilation...
Another problem long associated with gutters
and gutter attachment disappears when using
Snap-Lock. Most homeowners would be surprised
to learn that a long gutter will actually
grow and shrink an inch or more as temperatures
vary. This wreaks havoc on fasteners - causing
them to weaken and come loose. Gutters unable
to expand and contract because they are
“pinned” down will buckle and “pucker” between
adjacent fasteners. Snap-Lock allows gutters
to expand and contract normally. Additionally,
corner and endcap seams are not stressed
by movement and don’t develop leaks. Finally,
Snap-Lock is the only product that provides
ventilation behind the gutter. Condensation
can lead to black mold growth and accelerated
rot of the fascia board. |
